Polio in Balochistan
The increasing polio cases in several districts of Pakistan, especially in Balochistan are extremely disappointing. Raising the total number of patients, who are suffering from this disease in the Balochistan, is 52, the highest number in any province in the country. The causes were reportedly appeared in the districts of Loralai, Pashin, and Quetta, in the Pashtoon belt of Balochistan. According to an official of the UN Children Found (UNICEF) Jawahi Habib the polio causes have increased by hundred percent in Balochistan. Around 1.5 million children below the age of five years are at risk of being infected. Also Habib added that according to Word Health Organization WHO officials, more that 75 percent of causes detected in province in Quetta, Pashin, and Qila e Abdulla Ref Balochistan’s maze of violence.
The newly elected provincial and federal governments coupled with health-concerned department should take a profound measure to the concerning matter, so that any more innocent lives are destroyed.
